I traded a bagon with someone on the Kyoto server and he said that he was able to train it on the gen 1 server, but now when I got it, it no longer gets exp. I had the same problem with a pupitar that someone had used. I am level 25, and have no rank, I haven't played on any generation besides gen 1, any help would be great.
Hello there! The reason that your Pokemon are not gaining experience in Generation 1 (Kyoto) is because they are Pokemon from a later Generation. Pupitar is a Gen 2 Pokemon and Bagon is a Gen 3 Pokemon. This means that they need to be trained in their respective generation and above; So Gen 2-4 for Pupitar and Gen3-4 for Bagon. If you want them to gain experience in Gen 1, I believe you would have to train them through an exp share. If you have any more questions or concerns my DMs are always open here and on Discord.
