Gym badges are needed in order to further increase your Trainer Level, rendering you able to see new and higher leveled Pokémon in the wild.

In every gym you head down the stairs to battle the first NPC, then you head to that NPC's right side to battle the second NPC. After that you head to the first NPC's left side to battle the third NPC. When this is completed, you go up two sets of stairs and then head either right or left, continue up these stairs to reach the gym leader.

Leaving the gym completely will reset your progress in the gym. You may not use commands such as /pc or /pokeheal while battling the gym. You may use healing items such as revives and potions between battles.

Below are spoilers containing information regarding the gym's NPCs, their Pokémon and their Pokémon's level. There will also be information regarding rewards obtained after completing the gym as well as required level and next max level. I will also post coordinates for every NPC.

What team would you use for psychic gym? I'm thinking Mewtwo, gengar, Gyarados, raichu/jolteon and something else..

I used primarly two Lv100 Gengars to beat the Psychic Gym, but my Lv100 Mewtwo helped as well. :D

I would recommend Gengar with Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse and preferably Hypnosis and Gyarados with Dragon Dance and Crunch; they are easy to get. Jolteon and Mewtwo with Shadow Ball as well. ;)

I used spawn and snow biome; spawn primarily.

Something to note about the Psychic Gym is that Hypno has Insomnia and Mew has Synchronize. I got a second Gengar because I just needed more damage output since I couldn't put them to sleep.

Why Dark Pulse on Gengar

Shadow Ball should really be efficient enough with STAB but could just go coverage Psychic, Hypnosis, Focus Blast.
I know the other 2 wouldnt be great in Psychic gym, but save your coins :p

In case I ran out of PP, haha. Leppa Berry wasn't implemented and they are not working at the moment. In a more competitive aspect, there are other moves I'd use for type coverage, but this was for gym purposes.
