Defective Cow Spawner

I bought a cow spawner yesterday, but it doesnt work! pls tell me why... i built it on a 2x1 tall grass pillar, with a houndoom next to it in a large grassy area that is fenced in. Why doesnt it work?

Due to the fact that you have placed a houndoom right next to the spawner, it may be that the cows are being instantly killed as they spawn in. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions feel free to message me on the forums or on discord!

 

Thats what i hoped too. however, there is nothing in the houndoom's inventory and no drops laying around

 

Could you try picking the houndoom up and placing it down again?

 

i tried. the cow spawner is 2 blocks above the grass field, though. might that be the problem?

 

Hello, I understand that this may be a place for mods but I just want to point out that cows need light to spawn and I would recommend extending your area a bit to like 3 by 2. Feel free to pm me if this doesn't work!

Just wondering, I have a silk touch 1 diamond pick axe with unbreaking and efficiency on it. I'm just wondering what are the odds of me being able to get the cow spawner back if I use this is mine it?

Silk touch should guarantee you being able to get the cow spawner back.

also, i got my cow spawner to work. i just needed to place a large grassy land under the spawner to work
