Skyblock coop breaking spawner issue

ok recently I was hired to make an iron golem grinder for an iron golem spawner however the person that I was working for had placed the iron golem spawned wrongly and when I broke it with my silk touch pick (I double confirmed before breaking) it broke without dropping it. Can a stuff check whether this was a bug as I had broken 3 spawners with a silk touch pick and it didn’t drop it and now the guy won’t pay me for helping him( fyi it didn’t drop in lave I had place blocks to Ensure that)
