Trainer Bug in Sleet City

Hi there, I was training with Deputy James in Sleet City and at one point I was down to two pokemon, both low on HP, and when I pulled them out to play, they instantly fainted without any attacks being given.

When the 2nd one fainted (my very last pokemon), it asked me to choose what that pokemon would do, even when I could see the text in the background saying that the pokemon had fainted. I chose an attack, and that screen closed but I had no pokemon left and the trainer had not reset (see screenshot)

 

What was the last move or action that happened before the battle freeze?

 

I can't remember.. I was playing a lot of trainers this morning. I'll try to do it again and pay close attention next time.
